Glass Christmas ornaments

My Family and I just love to make new ornaments every year for our tree.  When the DIY Project is simple we are drawn to it.  With a seven year old in the house simple is often a necessity when we make our ornaments.  Each year we try to out do ourselves from the previous year.  It even gets to be a competition between family members.  It brings us closer together and actually brings out a creative side that some of us didn’t know we had.

Linda from Burlap and Blue dot com has a simple but elegant DIY glitter ornament.  In her words “In the midst of the busy holidays, it’s always nice to take a crafty time-out . . . and if your craft time produces cute ornaments that can be used as gifts or even gift toppers, all the better! ”  These ornaments turn out really nice.  When they are hung on your tree the lighting creates an awesome by reflecting of the glass and glitter.

Christmas can drain your account or put you in high credit card debt fairly quick.  Even if you are in to  DIY projects it can still cause some financial strain.  That is one of the reasons I make Dollar Tree a regular stop when my family needs to refill our crafting supplies.

Leah at thriftedness.com has a great post on creating some eye popping ornaments.  Everything she uses for the ornaments are purchased from Dollar Tree.  In her own words “Hello friends! I know it’s only October, but when I noticed the clear bulbs at the Dollar Tree this year I knew I needed to act fast! These sell out quickly and last year I missed em. For that reason I’m bringing you these DIY Dollar Tree Christmas ornaments.”  These are unique because I have never seen a glass ornament painted white.  Also using the pre printed vinyl stickers can be a great time saver.

Wooden Christmas ornaments

Agnes with justthatperfectpiece.com has a great tutorial on a rustic DIY Christmas ornament star.  In her own words “  https://justthatperfectpiece.com/simple-rustic-christmas…/

DIY Christmas ornament

I am a fan of the rustic look.  I am unique as I am male and blog about crafts. My family and I started this blog to highlight our different areas of creativity.  So when I come across a craft that features wood I am hooked.  Which is the reason I like the rustic look of these next ornaments.

Sarah from rufflesandrainboots.com has a great creative blog.  She features many niches in the crafting world.  A lot of them can be geared toward the younger crowd to keep them entertained but there is also a lot for adults to enjoy.  You should check it out.  In her own words she says “Here at Ruffles and Rain Boots, we have plans to do a whole farmhouse Christmas this year. The tree is going to be decked out in farmhouse ornaments, there will be Christmas gnomes, and just a schlew of other fun farmhouse Christmas decorations. One of my favorite that I just finished making is this trio of easy wood round ornament ideas.”

Paper Christmas ornaments

I wanted to include paper Christmas ornaments as well in this post.  I am an avid Cricut user as you will have read about in earlier posts.  Most of my cricut use has been with T-shirts and vinyl signs.    Which is the reason I got excited on this next ornament.  Sam from thebestvinylcutters.com is in my opinion a paper craft expert.

So I wanted to feature her 3D paper Christmas star in this roundup.  In her own word she says “So today I wanted to share with you a lovely DIY Christmas Paper Star decoration. I can promise you that these are slightly painful to make, but hey, I think that the finishing result definitely pays off for the repetitious work you will have to do.

Just yesterday I decided to start decorating my home a bit, so that life can feel a bit more festive. We will be away for Christmas this year, so I might just as well start decorating early so that I can enjoy the house all pretty in the festive spirit.”  With the right template setup you could probable do the initial cuts on your cricut.

Art work ornaments

The following blogger is one of the most unique ornaments that I have come across.  It never crossed my mind that this craft could also work as a Christmas ornament.  Laura from momenvy.com is one of those bloggers with an imagination.

In her own words “Reverse canvases have been all the rage this past year, so why not create a reverse canvas ornament? They’re just as easy to create as reverse canvases. Plus, you won’t even need a staple gun for these. Just some hot glue or E6000.”  As you can tell by the picture below the reverse canvas ornament is an awesome ornament creation.
